Fear not for I am with you. Isaiah 41:10
Fear not for I am with you. Isaiah 41:10

So many times in this struggle that Mr. Alias and I find ourselves in, it can feel like God has abandoned us. We pray every day, multiple times a day, and yet the message always seems to be “wait.”

Wait for the right time to find a better job. After applying, wait for what feels like the inevitable rejection letter. Wait for your health to get better. Wait for the insurance to approve a treatment. Wait for anything to get better. Wait.

But this morning during my personal time with the Lord, I received a different message. He told me change is coming. Change that’s going to tear down this cage we’re in. It’s going to be terrifying, but He immediately followed that up with “I will carry you through it.”

I’m reminded of the song by Casting Crowns. Just Be Held. All this time I felt like I wasn’t good enough because if I was God would have answered my prayers by now. If I was worthy of His notice He wouldn’t be letting such bad things happen to us. I’ve been so busy trying to do something to make Him move that I’d forgotten that He is already moving.

Change is coming. I don’t know when, but when it does, He’ll be there seeing us through it.
