Just like this blog, our lives are also a work in progress.
I’m not 100% sure how to preface this blog; it’s going to be written by myself and my husband, Mr. Alias. We’re trying to find a lot of things in life: ourselves, our passions, a way to escape California, and how to obtain a lifestyle that used to be the American Dream but now feels like a myth. Can a young family really make it on their own in this country? We hope to find out and bring you all along for the ride.
I’m Mrs. Alias, and I am an artist, mother, and domestic goddess. I feel as though I’ve been born in the wrong era; I love to cook, craft, garden, teach, and my dream is to live on a small homestead raising sheep for wool. I’m also preparing to have weight loss surgery, and I will be working hard to improve my health for myself and my family. On this blog I plan to share recipes that are bariatric friendly, tips for frugal living, my journey to lose 100+ pounds, and all my other interests from learning to sew to homeschooling our son, who is five years old and on the Autism spectrum.
My husband, Mr. Alias, is a writer, musician, and video game enthusiast. He is also working a normal 9 to 6 and hating it. He will be sharing his thoughts on topics like work, finding a new state to call home, how we live frugally to pay off our debt, and anything of his interest from samples of his writing to media and video game talk. Some of his content may contain some political or religious commentary, because those are things that pertain to our needs regarding a new home and the right environment to raise our son.
