We are Mr. and Mrs. Alias, a couple from California with a young son. We’ve lived in the Golden State all our lives, but for numerous reasons can’t stay here anymore.
We do a lot of things together: we both have a passion for writing, which is how we first met. We are artists in separate media as well. Mr. Alias does music and Mrs. Alias does digital drawing. We enjoy a lot of the same forms of entertainment, spending our evenings together watching our favorite Youtubers or playing Final Fantasy XIV.
Why do we go by Alias? Just to be clear, that’s not our real names. It mainly has to do with our living situation. We’re living with Mrs. Alias’s parents, who unfortunately are not safe individuals. So this blog can’t be seen by them where it can point back to us. We’ll be able to share our real identities when we’re out of this situation, and indeed we look forward to doing so. But we can’t wait to share what’s going on in our lives, because it’s a story that needs to be told. There’s none quite like it, though it has a lot of major elements that people today can relate to: dealing with a history of abuse, being financially uprooted, making radical changes to better our health, and raising children with special needs (our son is on the autism spectrum).
But it won’t all be heavy stuff. We talk about whatever we enjoy, because we’ve learned to treasure the little joys in life that help us get through the bad. And that’s something we hope to share with you: joy, empathy, and hope.
